Gold Quartz Grading

Grade 1: AAA+ This is the highest grade found and is extremely rare. Less than 5% of our stones are this quality. It is the whitest quartz possible, with a perfect picture-framed vein of gold, and no other minerals appear in the stone. Each piece sells for 10-15% more than Grade 3.

Grade 2: AAA This is higher than normal grade and is very rare. Less than 20% of all the stones cut will be of this quality. It is a very white stone with an excellent gold pattern. Occasionally small minerals may appear in the stone. Sells for 5-10% more than Grade 3.

Grade 3: AA This is a high-grade piece that is the standard grade found in most of our designs. It is a white piece of quartz with a good gold pattern. Small traces of other minerals could be found in the stone.

Grade 4: A This is a nice piece of Gold Quartz™. It will be either a white stone with noticeable minerals mixed with the gold vein, or an off-white stone with a nice pattern of gold. Sells for 10% less than Grade 3.

Grade 5: A- This is a value stone that will sell for 15% less than Grade 3.

It will be either a white, gold-bearing stone with other minerals, mixed, or a grey, gold-bearing quartz stone. Other minerals found in the stone do not mean anything is wrong with it. It is actually part of the proof that it is genuine and not man-made. To find out more about how to spot man-made gold quartz go to our What Is Natural Gold? page.
